About

Top 5 Records, for anyone who’s seen High Fidelity, is the name of the indie record label that Rob Gordon creates in an effort to bring his life back on track. In essence, spirit and name, this web log of offbeat musical experience aims to follow in those footsteps.

Stay with us for all things indie: international or Indian. Top Five Records will provide you with a regular dose of album reviews, interviews, monthly playlists, deep cuts and more.

So why should you read Top Five Records?

We get it. You get your music recommendations from your streaming service of choice, from friends’ social media posts and late night TV shows. Why read this website to get your music?

Because we know our stuff! We’ve been writing about music for almost a decade; and we hold no bar for genres either, from baroque classical to gangsta rap. You can always count on us for an honest opinion.

Follow us to learn about great tracks and playlists, get inside looks into upcoming artists’ careers, and most importantly — to cut through the noise.

I’d like to extend a warm handshake to the creators of this website. Well done sirs! Popularity explosion is lurking round the corner with an indecently eager smile.

All luck for your site, and I agree with every word about the Shakey Rays.

But it’s Rob Fleming, not Rob Gordon. 😉

In High Fidelity (the book), Rob Fleming is a British guy who eventually discovers an indie punk band. In the movie, Rob Gordon is an American who discovers an indie punk band and eventually starts Top Five Records. 🙂

Thanks so much for your wishes. Keep reading!

Serves me right for not looking that up before writing in. 😀

        Nice work, keep it up.
